Juice, serve and enjoy!

I did not add any measurements because this recipe is pretty much base on taste. Basil has a very strong flavor so 2 cups basil for one 1cup is sufficient. The apples would depend on personal preference of sweetness 1-3 apples, my favorite types of apples to juice are: gala, red delicious and golden delicious. All smoothies and juice receipes, I will use either one of these apples.

1/2 cup Basil

1/2 cup Celery

4 cups Swiss chard

2 cups Romaine lettuce

4 apples


1. Slice apples.

2. Remove chard leaves from stem.

3. Rinse all ingredients ( vinegar or baking soda bath)

4. Juice ingredients alternately greens then apple slice.

These are greens from our garden, this is such a perfect way to start the day.


Homemade Lemonade

Yield: For 6-8 people

Quick and easy recipe for making fresh homemade lemonade


  • 2 limes or lemons, peeled, quartered and any seeds removed
  • 8 cups cold water
  • ½ cup sugar (based on taste)
  • Ice cubes as desired
  • Lemon/lime slices for garnish


  1. Place the peeled and quartered limes or lemons in the blender with 4 cups of water and sugar.
  2. Blend until the limes or lemons are completely pulverized, the mixture should be slightly foamy with a whitish color.
  3. Strain the lemonade and add the remaining 4 cups of water.
  4. Serve with or without ice based on your preference.

Watermelon Refresher


1 cup coconut water

1 cup watermelon juice

1/2 cup limeade


In a pitcher, combine all ingredients. Serve over ice. Makes 2 servings.

Bonus: The lycopene in watermelon safeguards skin from UV damage.



Strawberry Coconut Colada




2 cups chopped fresh strawberries

1 1/2 cups coconut water

2 tsp fresh lemon juice


In a blender, purée fresh strawberries with coconut water and lemon juice. Sweeten to taste with honey (optional).

Serve over ice. Makes 2 servings.

Bonus: The d-limonene in lemon juice speeds detoxification.
