basil, apples, lemon
Juice, serve and enjoy!
I did not add any measurements because this recipe is pretty much base on taste. Basil has a very strong flavor so 2 cups basil for one 1cup is sufficient. The apples would depend on personal preference of sweetness 1-3 apples, my favorite types of apples to juice are: gala, red delicious and golden delicious. All smoothies and juice receipes, I will use either one of these apples.
1/2 cup Basil
1/2 cup Celery
4 cups Swiss chard
2 cups Romaine lettuce
1. Slice apples.
2. Remove chard leaves from stem.
3. Rinse all ingredients ( vinegar or baking soda bath)
4. Juice ingredients alternately greens then apple slice.
These are greens from our garden, this is such a perfect way to start the day.
1 cup coconut water
1 cup watermelon juice
1/2 cup limeade
In a pitcher, combine all ingredients. Serve over ice. Makes 2 servings.
Bonus: The lycopene in watermelon safeguards skin from UV damage.
2 cups chopped fresh strawberries
1 1/2 cups coconut water
2 tsp fresh lemon juice
In a blender, purée fresh strawberries with coconut water and lemon juice. Sweeten to taste with honey (optional).
Serve over ice. Makes 2 servings.
Bonus: The d-limonene in lemon juice speeds detoxification.
