Dried Thyme (no dehydrator needed)

Stop buying dried herbs!

Even if you do not have a dehydrator.

Dried herbs can be very costly. Ranging from $3 to $6 for organic version. However drying your own fresh thyme is very simple.

I had lots of thyme so instead of freezing it I decided to dry it.

Start by making sure your rack in the oven is in the middle. Then preheat your oven on the lowest setting. My oven lowest temperature is 175 degrees.

My thyme was freshly picked so I had them placed a lined baking sheet. The thyme should not be layered or close to each other.

Place the baking sheet in the oven leaving the oven door slightly open for the first 15 minutes then close the oven door.

Checking regular? Making sure you check it every 10 minutes . After 30-45 minutes it should be ready .

Take it out of the oven and let it to cool then remove the dried leaves from the stem.

Store in an airtight container in a cool place or in the refrigerator.
