Simple Egg Replacement – Flax Eggs

Sometimes I like using egg replacements instead of just eggs, especially when I want to keep it vegetarian or vegan friendly. This recipe is simple egg replacement recipe is as follows:

The simple way to make the egg replacement

Mix 1 tablespoon ground flax meal with 3 tablespoons of warm water until smooth and let stand for 10 minutes until it becomes gelatinous.

1 tablespoon ground flaxseed + 3 tablespoon water = 1 egg

Why Substitute for this Simple Egg Replacement – Flax egg

It works well when replacing one to two eggs but not as good replacing three or more eggs because it adds lots of fat which may affect your texture when baking cakes or certain types of muffins. However is it a great substitute in baking goods that requires 1 or 2 whole eggs. Make sure you are using a ground flax meal.

Store ground flaxseed or flax meal in the refrigerator to maintain freshness.
