One of my favorite Christmas drinks is Sorrel. Sorrel is usually found in the Caribbean islands during Christmas time. I find them in our local Caribbean store here in Florida during Christmas time also. This drink has a delicious taste, similar taste to hibiscus but so much better. The flower can be bought fresh or dried. Of course, I go for the fresh sorrel all the time. Here is my go-to recipe, simple to make, but oh so good!

Ingredients

3 cups of sorrel (pitted)

7 cups of boiling water

1 orange peel

4 cloves

1   6-inch cinnamon stick

Directions

  1. Add all the ingredients in a bowl with the boiling water last. Leave this sit for 24 hours.
  2. Strain the liquid.
  3. Add 3 cups of water.
  4. Sweeten to taste.
  5. Bottle and refrigerate. Serve cold.

Enjoy!
