On our first day, we went to look for dinner. We had a name, Texas Blanco Tacos + Tequila, and realized it was not too far from our hotel, so we walked to it. It was Tex-Mex. We asked if they had vegan options and were told yes. Once we were seated, our server Jaz, did a fantastic job of finding out if any of our choices were vegan.
We were notified that we could have the beans; however, the rice was made with chicken broth. As a starter, we got a bowl of tortilla chips and salsa. I ordered the caramelized sweet potato bowl, which consisted of sweet potatoes, kale, zucchini, mushrooms, black beans, and lettuce. Others ordered a burrito which also came with beans and rice. In addition, we had tacos; however, rice was added to this order, and no beans were given, so this had to be corrected by sending back the rice and getting an order of beans. For drinks, we had lemonades and a local beer.
The tortilla chips were well-seasoned, and the salsa was a bit sweet. We went a little overboard with the chips. We had almost two bowls of chips because we had a second bowl. Our meals were good, but the presentation was not excellent, and the burrito had too much sauce. In addition, there could have been more beans, vegetables, and greens in my bowl.
